Lace Jewelry by Naemeh Shirazi

Conceptual accessory design

Naemeh Shirazi began her formal training in fashion design as a high school student attending the Fashion Institute of Technology. She graduated from Cornell University with a major in Textile and Apparel Design and a minor in Textile and Apparel Management. She presented a grant awarded collection at the Cornell Design League Fashion Show and interned with Kenneth Cole Productions, Inc. and Marc Jacobs International.

She has studied design in Florence and lived and worked in London and Seoul. Her designs have sold at museum shops at MoMA, the Tenement Museum, The Bronx Museum of the Arts and The Queens Museum of Art. Naemeh, an Italian-Iranian, is a native of Queens, NY – the most ethnically diverse county in the US – and now lives and designs in Berlin, Germany.

Naemeh Shirazi’s conceptually driven creations embody eccentric sophistication as they intersect art and design and effortlessly unify form and function. Naemeh’s recycled and repurposed wearable art consist of earrings and pendants fashioned from lace fragments. She produces feather weight earring designs in striking silhouettes by sculpting from yardage of durable, intricately designed lace. Similar to a sculptor working with stone, she deliberately removes excess lace from the selected yardage until a form emerges. The sculpted lace fragments are then paired with sterling silver findings to produce a seemingly weightless, beautiful accessory perfect for the active woman. Available in multiple styles and colors, Naemeh’s jewelry is suitable for a casual or dressy look.
